Initial Situation
Increasingly, customers are paying in-store via TWINT – however, many sales areas are located in basements or buildings with poor mobile coverage. The result: Payments fail, the checkout process stalls, and customers become frustrated. The retail chain was looking for a solution that would create stable mobile conditions independent of construction or location and could be rolled out as a standard to additional locations.
Customer Requirements
- Stable mobile coverage for all relevant network operators across the entire sales area
- Reliable connections for mobile payments like TWINT, even in basements
- Installation without disrupting ongoing store operations
- Coordination with shop operators and center management
- Repeatable, scalable concept for rollout to additional branches
Solution by Motcom
Motcom installs mobile indoor systems that specifically bring the providers' mobile signal into the building – regardless of construction or location. Through a provider-approved repeater and a passive antenna system, the sales area is evenly covered. In collaboration with shop operators and center management, Motcom establishes stable conditions for mobile payments, communication, and data services.
- Analysis and Measurement
- Current measurement of indoor coverage and identification of dead spots by branch
- Planning and Engineering
- Antenna layout, specification of the repeater, coordination with network operators
- Realization
- Installation during ongoing store operations, cabling, and commissioning
- Acceptance
- Acceptance measurement, proof of connection stability, documentation
- Operation
- Maintenance contract with level control
Customer Feedback
Poor reception and failed payments at the checkout were a constant annoyance for us – since the indoor coverage was established, this issue has been resolved. And thanks to regular maintenance, it remains that way.
